Naza Kia Sdn Bhd attains #1 position in Commercial Vehicles Segment Sales- 201% increase compared to Commercial Vehicles sold during same period in 2005
- 3,820 units Naza Kia Commercial Vehicles sold in August 2006
- Sale of 3,150 Naza Citra units fuel growth, and increase from 917 units sold the previous month
- Cumulative total Naza Kia year-to-date sales until August 2006 total 26,759 units, representing a 24% year-on-year gain from 21,564 units sold in 2005 during the same period
KUALA LUMPUR, October 17, 2006 – Naza Kia Sdn. Bhd. today announced that its year-to-date retail sales in the Commercial Vehicle Segment (Malaysian Automotive Association’s August 2006 Sales Analysis Report) in August 2006 recorded 15,179 units, representing a 84.6 per cent year-on-year increase from 8,225 units sold during the same period in 2005. By model, the Naza Citra sold 3,150 units in August, posting a year-on-year sale increase of 163 per cent in August, with 11,710 units cumulative sales compared to 4,459 units during the previous year.
Cumulatively through the first eight months of 2006, Naza Kia Sdn. Bhd.’s sales have risen by 23 per cent year-on-year to reach 26,579 units (21,564 units sold during first eight months of 2005).
Todate, Naza Kia Sdn. Bhd.’s best selling model has been the Naza Citra with 11,710 units sold. Meanwhile, the Naza Ria recorded the second highest sales, with 2,708 vehicles delivered, followed closely by the Kia Spectra - a highly popular 1.6-litre Sedan in Malaysia - with 2,607 units sold.
The Sorento, which recently won Autocar Asean’s Car Of The Year Award 2005/2006 for Best Large SUV, maintains its number one position in the 4x4 Passenger Vehicle category (excluding SUV’s under 1.5 litre capacity), with 1493 units sold todate.
